Here is my newest enclosure. It is my old 46 gallon bowfront aquarium. While the tank itself is not 'home made' the lid is. It is very hard to find a ventilated top to a bowfront so my husband fabricated one from black shelving units. He added a hinged door for the top and ventilation holes covered with wire mesh( small enough so noone can escape). The top also breaks into 2 pieces so I don't have to take the entire thing apart to access it( I'm very short so reaching into the tank I almost fall into it ). This tank is my work in progress. I hope to get a nice background on it, so you can't see the wood, and add some more 'natural' look to it. Unfortunatly here in Washington everything ( plants) are dead for the season so he just gets twigs and rocks to hid in.



I am still trying to figure out what to do with the heat lamp. I think I'm going to attach it to the wall so it's not so close to the top. Fortunately I have not had an issue with it getting too hot.
