cool Vs Warm

A little advice please. Its 3.30am here in dreary England (I've just come in from the pub) The central heating has been off for a while and its quite cool in the house. The house is around 16-18C The cold end of the tank reads 20C and the warm end reads 29C the snake fed at around 6.30 this evening. He is now sat at the cooler end of the tank, in the hide, i thought they usualy digested at warmer temps. I'm curious to know if he is exibiting normal behaviour, I'm sure he is but i need a little reassurance that he's happy.
