I still can not believe I did not pick Thamnophis.
Boots was the name of my first garter. I went through a weird phase when I was younger, and picked names that were normal, but just wrong when you thought about it. My fish were called Tuna (Tuna fish), I gave my tutles the last name of soup (Turtle Soup), and my boa was named Belt (snake belt). Now a days, I let the wife pick the names.
