Yeh, I know I'm a bit late....but here are some pics of garters that I found late in the season. The first two are from here in PA and the last couple are from Ithica, NY...was visiting my sister.
This guy was sunning at a park near my house....see quite a few garters there. Only got one pic taken before a jogger scared him away.
These are from my favorite snake spot. I've been there multible times this past year and I ALWAYS found snakes. This day, I saw garters everywhere! Makes me wonder if maybe there's a hibernaculum some where close by.
