From what I've heard, Butler's really aren't all that different to keep then easterns. In the wild they tend to be earthworm specialist, so if you're dealing with wild caughts that'd probably be your best bet to start. I have heard of some people who have had luck converting them over to mice. It seems they're like a lot of garters, where they will specialize in what ever food item is most abundant, but are at heart generalist that can go to other food sources. I know they are a protected species across much of their range, so I'd definitely check out the local laws, before collecting any and also check out the legality of breeding and selling them.
