You're not feeding it trout or salmon by any chance? The fish farms feed them a carotenoid called astaxanthin (
Astaxanthin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) to give their meat a nicer colour. I've noticed that the stuff turns snake feces red (reddish). I thought it was blood at first, but it didn't turn brown the way blood does when it dries.
edit: This is what it looks like, 5 days after they were fed farmed rainbow trout. Should be about 2-3 days old.
Blood would be rusty brown at this point.
