I ask complete strangers! They might think I'm weird, but hey, so what?
I spoke to one very nice young lady, who's garden backed onto rough ground overgrown with bracken.... she was very helpful, she said she's seen Adders and let me search through her garden and the neighbouring land.
Then later we spent a couple of hours sitting out on her patio, chatting and drinking beer. She was very nice to me.
