I was going through my photo archives the other day and I started thinking that maybe it's about time that we had a nature photography thread. The pictures don't even have to be pictures of garters, the only rule (at the moment) is that the pictures you post are
your own. Goes without saying, really. And it should at least have something to do with nature. Boots has already given his blessing.
Just check you file and image sizes before submitting anything.
I'll start with a few of my own.

Vipera berus we found while we were learning to identify foreign coniferous trees at the Finnish Forest Research Institute's research area in Solböle last september. Started playing cobra when we came too close. It was lying in the middle of the road and refused to move, just raised its head and hissed, which is pretty unusual for this species.
