I went for a nice walk today along our creek. I was REALLY HOPING to see a garter... it had just rained, hard, and then the sun came back out full force, so I thought to myself, Self, this is IT... you will find garters today!!! But noooooo.... no snakes at all. Sigh.
However, I did find this! This is the first crayfish I've ever noticed by our creek before-- but a while ago Kyle suggested a pic of a mud pile I'd posted was a crayfish home-- and apparently he was right. :-)
I wouldn't have posted this pic because it's blurry, but look, in the lower right corner... there's a tiny little critter. Crayfish baby?? Spiderling??
