Overdose of barbiturate
o Intravenous route– injection into the venous sinus in the dorsal midline of the tail.
o Intraperitoneal route - enter the abdominal cavity anterior to a hind leg.
o May need prior sedation (eg. with an injection of Ketamine or Saffan into the quadriceps muscle, or in terrestrial species, by inhalation of an anaesthetic gas).
