Off Season Mating Attempts??
Took this picture while I was headed off for work yesterday and seems the male has been persistantly on the female, I havent seen any actual copulation but sure seems he's been trying, Any one have any thoughts on this??
I'm going to weigh her weekly to look for weight gains etc I was going to brumate her and the male but if she ends up being gravid again that's a no go. Seems odd that she would be ready so soon after giving birth in july.

Re: Off Season Mating Attempts??
Here are my thoughts.
![]() ![]() August '06 ![]() December '06 ![]() May '07 ![]() May '07 Those are just a few of the pictures I had in my archives. What's happening there, is that the male kept pursuing the female. Basically, the male was always in the mood and displayed courtship behavior as long as they were kept together, no matter what time of year it was. The female however didn't play along until May this year. |

Re: Off Season Mating Attempts??
Both cyrtopsis and concinnus are also breeding here, already for 1-1,5 months now. I can be that they have some late season clutches, but then they should've started earlier than this. 1-1,5 months is just to late normally. So I also think the males where just in the right mood
