Hibernation ended!
Today I ended the hibernation of all of my garters.
Sadly one of them died. (thamnophis cyrtopsis cyrtopsis) I noticed some strange things on him and will open another topic to deal with that. All snakes where nice and cool, so I got an excellent chance at taking some pictures. Hope you enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Hibernation ended!
I have weighed all snakes before and after hibernation.
For the ones that are interested, I have an Excell file with their weights. To putt things short, Almost all snakes have lost 2 to 4 grams. Two snakes lost 8 and 10 grams and one snake gained 4 grams. I have no idea how that is possible...but it happened... PM me for the xls file

Re: Hibernation ended!
That looks like dehydration to me. When snakes dehydrate, their belly sometimes develops a "fold" in the skin. A good soak and plenty of fresh drinking water may help.
