Someone tell me about why all the newborn pics I see have so much moisture in the enclosure. Does that help the babies with their shedding and cleaning off?? |

![]() @ Lori: You're right about the moisture you see in the pics. When garterbabies are born they will shed right away and most of them do it immediately after the birth when they are still moist. But some of them wait too long and when they are dried up it's a lot more difficult to shed, because the first shed is very thin and most of the time doesn't come of in one piece. In that case they look like little ghosts with pieces of skin everywhere or they look totaly wrinkled.You can imagine that's not very plesant for them, so we leave them on moist papertowel for one day and everything is just fine
