gravid??
My albino checkered is about 8years old now. I pulled her out of brumation about 3 months ago. She's refused to eat since she's been out. I didn't put the male in with her this ye. I was in her cage a few minutes ago and now she definitely looks gravid. She appears to be n great health and her weight is still normal. Has anyone seen this before?

Re: gravid??
When was the last time she bred?
She may have retained sperm from her last breeding?

Re: gravid??
She bred February 2010. That's what I was thinking but why the refusal to eat. I really hope this isn't going to kill her.

Re: gravid??
I've had snakes come out of brumation and refuse to eat.
3 months does seem like a long time but you also said she hasn't lost much if any weight.
Remember, you pulling her out of brumation doesn't mean she was ready to be pulled out. They do have their own clocks and many times we must adjust to them.
I'd keep offering food and checking her weight.
Hopefully she'll start eating soon.
