    Another litter of Chicago garters

This morning the normal female chicago garter that was bred by the green axanthic gave birth to a small litter. There were 7 big healthy babies, 1 stillborn, 2 jelly beans, and one additional baby that was having difficulty breathing when I left for work this morning, so when I get home tonight there will either be 7 or 8 live babies. They all look normal so again hopefully the axanthic gene is recessive and they are also hets.

Make that 8 big healthy babies!!! When I got home tonight the one that was gasping for air this morning was perfectly fine. I had put it by itself on a moist paper towel in a container on heat tape this morning. So after watching it for a bit I then returned it with the rest of the littermates.
