    T.sirtalis breeding information

We are Natural Resource Management students doing a genetic study on T.s.sirtalis. We are trying to find the best way to captively breed and hibernate 5 of our snakes. Any information on brumation temperatures and requirements and the best habitat to captively do all of this is greatly appreciated.

    Re: T.sirtalis breeding information

Welcome from Delaware! We have many T.s.sirtalis here. I have two...a male and a female. My female may actually be gravid. She was gravid last year when I found her, but she had thirty stillborns last August. This time she possibly mated with my male. I am hoping that if she is in fact gravid, she has healthy babies this time around.

Good luck...let us know if you need anything else. A very good book recommendation: The Garter Snakes: Evolution and Ecology, by Douglas A. Rossman, Neil B. Ford, and Richard A. Seigel. ( We call it our garter snake bible). Available used on Amazon and also on Ebscohost as an Ebook.

I don't know if it is possible to get the book downloaded for an Ipad. There is a link to get it on EBSCOhost EBSCOhost: Garter Snakes : Evolution and Ecology

You can also purchase the book on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...condition=used

It's more of an online version, rather than an e-book. An e-book implies it can be downloaded onto a reader of some description.
