My first snake viv. hints and comments please.

ok so im a week away from getting my first garter snake. I have just put the finishing touches to my viv and i wanted to get some oppinions from people with experience.
The viv is 36"x16"x18". I covered the floor with laminate flooring so that its easier to wipe up any mess and also protects the wood of the viv from moisture/spillages/urine. I screwed a branch to the back of the viv for a bit of interest and something for the snake to play with. I have a large pebble roughly half a foot wide for another bit of interest. The temperatures from the heat lamp alone are 24C-29C from 1 end to the other.
The things i need which are being delivered with the snake are substrate (reptile wood chips) a water dish and hide in 1 and a normal ceramic hide and a cage to go around the basking lamp.

i removed the glass from the viv so that the photo's could be taken.

comments please

Nice background.
But I would change the red bulb for a normal bulb.

is there any particular reason for changing the colour of the bulb or is it just personal preferance?

Yeah, just aesthetics. The red bulb would be for heating things at night, or that don't like bright light.

i look forward to it too :P. the only reason i have to wait another week is because im skint until then. i'm trying to sell my fish tanks to raise the cash early but noone seems to be interested. never mind... i'm sure the wait will just make it that bit more exciting.

Have you decided what species you're going to get yet, Dan?
