will it be ok if i got some branchers of a tree and gave them a wash to put in my tank or do u need to buy them from a pet shop.

Chris, it's fine to use branches you have collected yourself...as long as you clean them thoroughly. There is a thread somewhere all about this subject, have a look through the "enclosures" forum, it might be in there.
