will this do it????

I cut down a couple branches with my pocket knife and soaked them in hot water for about 45 min. is it safe to put them in the enclousure? One has white spots.

I don't think its a problem, everything I've used is from the outside except the bark which is from home depot...

Your best off letting them dry out a bit. The white spots may either be sap leaking out from the wood or fungus growing on the now saturated bark. What type of tree was it you cut them from??? Some trees you want to avoid due to the caustic sap they have in them.

It could be fungus
That wouldn't be to good
