Escape problems
I need some help guys. ):
I just got done making some new "vivs" for my herps out of 30 gallon rubbermaid rough neck bins. They're tilted on the side so the "front" of the viv comes off and is screened; problem is there's a little leeway between the lid rim and the container rim. So of course one of my snakes has escaped. Twice. I've found her *my big parietalis*; once in the bathroom at about 10 yesterday and 5 in the morning today. So I need some ideas for what to put between the lid and the rim to "seal it off."

It could work... I'll try it.
I have my room sealed off anyways.

Re: Escape problems
How about flexible self-adhesive draught excluder? Like you might fix around a door frame?

Ace - Ace Tree: Home Goods: Storage & Organization: Totes, Carts & Drawers: Rubbermaid® 31 Gallon Roughneck Tote (2244CPDIM) - 9 Pack
Take that, flip it so the top is cut open and facing towards you with screening, and over the "side" put metal screening for the heat lamp. So it basically looks like it fell over. lol

Re: Escape problems
Yeah, I think the draught proofing strip would work a treat!

Re: Escape problems
Oooooh you tip it sideways... right? And then look in thru the lid which is now the front?

Re: Escape problems
Another excellent idea (which I noticed in Sid's photo comp entry) would be to secure the edges of the lid/front with bulldog clips.
