Re: 20 gallon long

A 20 gallon long measures 30" long x 12" deep X 12" high as a general rule. May vary slightly by manufacture. Should be OK for ribbons if they aren't exceptionally long.

Re: 20 gallon long

40 long is my favorite size. The floor is 18 x 48 - the same as a 55... the only difference between a 40 and a 55 is the height.

They are cheaper, and when you put a light on top for heat, the lower profile of the tank means that the light is closer to the basking spot, thus lower wattage does the same job.

Re: 20 gallon long

yeah, i have them in a 40 breeder now, 36 long x 18 high x 18 wide,

but its messed up and one of my ribbons has gotten out twice because of it. last time i couldnt find him for about 3 weeks !! just found him last night, thats why im changing now!!

im not sure what kind of 40 this is so, im hoping for the best, but at $25 you cant go wrong---for the most part

I like the 40 long as well but the floor is 13X48 not 18x48. I know it was just a typo because you had it correct as being the same as a 55. As far as the price, I can get 55's cheaper because they are always on sale as opposed to the 40 longs which are never on sale. Example, I sell the 40 longs for $100.00 and the 55's for $96.00 or even less when my wholesaler has a super special going on. I like the 33 longs even better though. Same footprint but only 12 inches high. Makes it real easy to stack.

I still like the breeder tanks the best. I like the 18" depth as opposed to the 13" depth of the 55s

Yeah
I agree
I am not getting any more 13" deep tanks
the breeder footprint just gives one so much more to work with

I agree, plus, my room isn't that big so I pretty much have to get breeders if I want more than two.
