I don't mean it's a space issue, but they recommend that you keep several females per male, to take some of the pressure off the females. Then again, sometimes they just don't get along. Or like somebody suggested, she could be preggers.

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
good luck with those darn mice, Lori
yes, I do seem to have had one damn thing after another recently maybe it's one of those self-suggestion type things and I need to change my signature to something very not true? right now I feel I've been sick so much, even taking care of my critters has become a chore

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
Stefan, how are your mice doing? I think you're right about him maybe pestering her too much... I should have had two or three females to start, and I've been a little worried about introducing a new one. I think I'll wait this out and see if she's having a litter, and then try to introduce a new girl.
Rhea, you definitley need a mental boost to get you over this slump... let's get her a new slogan that's so sunny and bright she'll want to puke, you guys... oh, wait. You're probably tired of puking, huh? :-) I do hope you feel better soon. TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN, RHEA!!!! (Ducking and running-- I don't know about you but that saying makes me want to kick the sayer in the head-- LOL) |

My mice are doing just fine.
No fights yet. But the females look smaller than the male.If that's your plan then I'd separate them for now and hope she's pregnant, or separate them and then reintroduce them together with a new female "on neutral ground". |

there are things that need to be done after all feeling a little better today, but not ready for the big list it's a good thing that snakes can go without food for a few days longer water, lizard greens, and little misting is all I can handle right now I do need some way to film Henner attacking a cat yesterday he charged at one of them who came too close to his cage door when he had chased the cat a sufficient distance, he ran back into his cage and did the most spectacular head bobbing display I'd never seen him do that before aside from the physical discomfort, being sick isn't so bad, just as long as nothing needs to be done

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
Well, be extra careful and watch your kids... we just heard something so horrible-- a little girl (she was 12) from my co-worker Kerry's son's school just died from complications from the FLU. The flu!!!!! How does a child die of the flu??? It must be a very bad strain. Kerry's son has been sick the last couple of days too and she just left to take him to the dr!!!! So BE CAREFUL....

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
The flu can be very dangerous for some kids. Because it is a respiratory virus, any child with asthma is automatically at high risk. And even in healthy kids it can settle in the lungs and become an infection or pneumonia.
I wonder if that child had their flu shot, it usually helps lessen the severity of the virus. My son gets one every year because of his asthma. Scary stuff!!

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
Oh, I forgot that part-- yes, she had had her flu shot. :-( But I don't think the flu vaccines can keep up with the mutating viruses... maybe I'm wrong. Just SO SCARY to think of losing your child to something like the flu in this day and age, you know?? You always think we can cure everything these days... so tragic.
