Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
But, Rhea, it's still very, very rare for a normally healthy person to be in danger of losing their life because of the flu. I'm sure you eat healthily and do all the right things now to regain your strength so you and your family are going to be well soon. Be kind to yourself, allow yourself to be spoiled and looked after, make sure you have got this one out of your system before returning to work so you can avoid a "Rueckschlag".

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
Mikhaila is responding really well to homeopathics
she has a fantastic immune system, which may be a bit dented by the fact that she hates her current class teacher and doesn't like going to school because of it also - a large percentage of kids in her school and their parents are sick anyway I gave her a remedy this morning and she's having too good a time to be called properly sick I have the wheezy thing I've been getting after colds and flus since 9/11/01 - the one my doc says she's seen a lot of since then the good news is that it's a little less severe each year I got to spend some time with snakes today - that was fun

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
Sounds like everyone is improving a bit, then. Good to hear, Rhea!
I tend to go for the homeopathic approach first when I get sick; echinacea, garlic and vitamin C make a good combo to fight colds and flu! Whatever happened with the child Lori's friend knew must have been from some unforseen thing. Viruses can be so quirky that way, and who knows if the child didn't have some hidden medical condition that made it so disastrous.

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
Rhea, glad to hear you're feeling better and that Mikhaila is responding to the homeopathics!!!
The news here is full of the little girl who died. There have been two other child deaths from the flu, too. Apparently the kids appeared to be getting better but then they went into pneumonia pretty quickly... the schools are sending any kid who so much as looks sick home, and not letting them back in without a doctor's note. Scary stuff. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be an alarmist, I am just shocked that this happened and wanted to make sure Rhea watched Mikhaila. Kerry's son knew the little girl at his school who died and he's scared because he has the flu too-- poor poor kid!! :-( |

Oh, the poor guy!! Children get SUPER scared about stuff like that, it can be real traumatic for them. That sounds like an extremely bad strain of the flu.
I hope he gets better soon. Give him and his mom good wishes from me. ![]()

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh
that sounds like a really scary flu
in 2003 I had one that made me realize they're no joke I was sick for more than two months and lost 20lbs, most of which I didn't need to loose since then I've been having trouble keeping my weight up and every cold kinda scares me I hope the children will all be okay and just have the flu pass

Okay, so my parietalis has shed twice after brumation but she hasn't really grown in lenght since, well, last summer. She has however put on a bit of weight. She was about 132 grams before brumation, now she's 163.
I better put her on a diet.
