Near sea level, an object in free fall in a vacuum will accelerate at approximately 9.81 m/s2, regardless of its mass.
Which equates to an acceleration rate of 33 ft per second per second (in English money)!

Is there a specific reason that particular formula is so important to you James?
You're not planning to drop houmous of various weights from great heights or anything are you?

The formula is of no importance to me Anji... I was simply trying to relieve Stefan's boredom.
Houmous, on the other hand, is very important, and should certainly never be dropped from a great height..... but if it was it would accelerate at a rate of 33ft per second every second..... just so you know.
