I have no idea what the scales are called, but in Corallus caninus the scales running in front of the eye towards the nostrils (above the pits) are large and form a pretty clear row. Morelia viridis seems to have a lot of smaller scales. Then there's the head shape..
Okay, I'm probably wrong, I'm just saying this after looking at a few dozen photos.  Not after reading any guides.

I still find it hard to see. But caninus should have bigger heat receptors, all over its head / nose.
Caninus  viridis  If you're ready for it...I've got some nameless pictures...You can try to guess what they are. I've only just learned the difference...But I will gladly pass it on!
