Dire at the moment. The so called 'credit crunch' we're experiencing is crippling the UK house building industry. My firm laid off 20 men today.... and 20 last month.

Ouch! That is no fun. Any relief in sight for the industry? Or does it look like a long term "crunch"? Sorry to hear about your job situation. My husband is in the home building industry, so I know how other economic issues can affect the industry.

James, I am so sorry to hear of your work troubles. I wish the best for you, I know what a huge worry it is.
Over here, it's the manufacturing industry that always seems to be on the chopping block. We worry constantly for my husband's job, too. I hope it picks up for everyone soon.

Thanks guys. I'll be okay. I have the opportunity to try another career path now.....
Train driver, super-hero, stunt-man. I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up.
