I've barely scratched the surface yet... there is just SO MUCH rubbish on there!
The pond will be a butyl liner, deep in the centre gradually shallowing into an area of bog garden.... easy amphibian access! Loads of natural planting and dense cover to attract the wildlife.

Nice allotment! How much land is in the allotment? It looks like decent sized area. The improvements look great.

Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh

Thank you LeAnn, in a few more years it will be really lovely.
It's 120ft long by 80ft wide.... so not huge but big enough to keep me busy for a good while.

I love ponds. Right now all I have is a 300 gallon Rubbermaid livestock tank sunk in the yard with a small waterfall, some koi, a few waterlilies, etc. Someday I hope to make a larger pond with a butyl liner.....

I'm not looking forward to the digging, or trying to get rid of the spoil. Anybody want to buy 50 tons of clay?

Yeah, but wouldn't pictures have been better? I still can't believe that it swam up to my leg twice! (and I still didn't catch it!)

James, your allotment is lovely! That looks like a ton of hard work! I take it you have a long term contract with the government so that this will always be yours to enjoy? Or at least for a good long time?

Yes, allotments are on land set aside by the state for this purpose.... it can never be built on or used for any other purpose. As long as I don't break the rules (and I pay my rent), it's mine for life.

Molly loves her little loo!
