Re: For a Minute I Thought.......

I sure thought I had her James, Note the tail. But, on close examination the markings were not the same. It is interesting that these two snakes have an almost identical tail injury. I have seen another (adult) ms with an obvious short tail, seems to be a common injury. I wonder if it is frostbite?

p.s. Moved her away from the pool, to the woodpile, she is big enough to eat the big eastern's babies.

She may still turn up this year, Terry! Lovely little snakes anyway, even if it's not our Ladybug.

Re: For a Minute I Thought.......

Usually if the tip is clean, it was a stuck shed.

My milk snake had bone showing when I first captured him, it healed up, but the tip of his tail is ugly. about 1/3 inch looks like it was once in a bear trap, That I think looks more like frostbite, winter was harsh here.

He eats well, has shed and seems fine.

It's just too bad that as they age, that pretty color turns brown.

This guy is named "Carmello" Like the carmel candy with white in the middle.
