That turtle really DOES look like that character! BTW when ARE snapping turtles in a good mood?????
I grew up surrounded by marshlands and "progging" for snapping turtles to make stew was what many of the locals did. There's a story in my family of a snapper progger going to the local bar after a particularly good day and daring one of the drunks to kiss the turtle he had just caught.
The guy speaks with a lisp now!;-)

Re: Other pets (non-garters)
I have a Common Snapper that is more docile than all the box turtles I've ever had. She(Tank) cruises the living room many times during the day. She climbs up on the kids and sits on their laps. She seems to enjoy having her neck rubbed and scratched. She's a little bigger than a saucer. Last year she was a hatchling.
She has very little if any startle response from any of us including the dog. I'm going to shoot some video of her one of these days and get it posted.
I also picked up another Common Snapper this weekend that seem very docile. It's a bigger male. Hoping to have a nice calm breeding pair someday.

Sounds like your house has some really good energy. Are there any bad tempered souls in your house, people OR critters???

Yeah, I've seen plenty of decent sized adult snappers that were quite charming and tame.

Re: Other pets (non-garters)
Sorry to be a pest, but I need, yet again, the link to the 'other' board. My most beloved snakr, Anasazi - a Hoggy has died.
My garters all do well. As I type this I am feeding them. Chicken, actually. They are such food whores. I have learned over the time I have been away the PROPER way to pick them up, and that is behind the head. They are bitey little bastards! Still I love them, the poops.
I hope this finds LuLu, Stefan, et al very well and good. LuLu, I think of you so often as I read Egypt stuff.
If someone could also send me the email address of the Alaska guy I got my 'vicious' Pugets from, that would make me happy.
I see I have a private message. I have no Internet and have to use my phone, which os not forgiving. If the current 'head honcho' would contact me, I will give him/her my email to pass to those I know.
Bless you all.

Would that be from Arctic Exotics on the Kenai Peninsula? I know they sold pugets, or might still have them. He was last active on the forum July 5th. Might want to PM him.
