This is my first time reading this thread, and all I have to say is this:

Rick, I know Alaska is remote, but they do have grocery stores!! STAY HOME, it's much nicer -- warm, safe, grizzly-free........ !! You're lucky you didn't become part of the bear's winter meat supply!!

Of course it's a throw rug. Everybody brings a gigantic grizzly throw rug on their hunting expeditions because it's SO much fun to lug it around with you for months at a time waiting for the perfect photo opportunity. I have one in the basement just in case of such an event.....
