I'd give him more time. You have to understand, from his point of view, you've been tormenting him for days. One thing I sure as heck would do tho is let the pet store know that their snakes have bugs!!!!

the store knew that the snakes had mites,,all the boas in the same tank had mites,,i called them and im returning him sometime this week,,,going to get some more garter snakes,,,there about 20$ a piece here and i found an albino looking one,,,so ill get them,,,and they dont have mites so i wont have to worry about them having mites,,and garters are so much more fun,,anyone ever been biten by a garter snake? can i put corn snakes in with the garters?

garter snake bites are harmless sometimes they breeak skin though, about the corns i think it depends on the size personally i wouldnt mix different species with that big cage u could have a whole lot of garters though.
