My cat's .50 cent a day habit

No, the cat is not a fan of rap music. lol

She has, however, become a HUGE fan of the Rodentpro frozen mice that were delivered last week for the SNAKES (NOT the cats). She snatched one off the counter last week where I had laid some to thaw. Since then, she has also snatched some pinkies. And started to beg... whine... plead. Thinking it was a fluke, I offered her a couple of mice over the weekend. She gulped them like they were margeritas at a Buffett concert.

And so now every morning, without fail, she starts screeching for her mice. Yowling. Reaching out and grabbing me as I walk by. DEMANDING.

Which is all fine... she is a cat, after all, and if the kitty wants mice, the kitty gets mice. But the thing that gets me is, she does NOT eat the wild mice she catches!!!!!! So what is it about these lab mice that attract her so much?!! And isn't it just typical that she wants to eat the ones that cost me money and not the free wild ones!!!!

the wild ones have that gamey flavour, that comes from not leading the pampered, nutritionally enhanced life
your cat apparently has refined tastes

WOW!!! thats very interesting, I think though that it should only be like a snack thing here and there or you might ruin the cats feeding habits.....

I agree with Rhea, your kitty is most likely spoiled! Why should she chase and eat dirty ol' wild mice when she can demand to be served nicely preserved, parasite- free lab mice??
And it's so much more fun to steal food from her housemates, and make you spend more money!!
