oh no - I finished my book
it was "The Pilot's Wife" by Anita Shreve and I liked it a lot I'm also in the midst of Bartlett's "In Search of Reptiles and Amphibians" Couturier's "The Hopes of Snakes - and other tales from the urban landscape" "Hooked" - a collection of Buddhist writings Greene's "Snakes - the Evolution of Mystery in Nature" my favourite fiction books are Bulgakov's "The Master and Margharita" Suskind's "Perfume" and Helprin's "A Winter's Tale" in the mystery genre I really enjoy Nevada Barre, Dana Stabenow and Elizabeth George I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch but what else can you turn me on to?

Forever Conant's "Field Guide to Reptile and Amphibians." The just reread Nabokov's "Pale Fire." He was into butterflies, like we are snakes.

Re: what are you reading?
Well, since I don't have them in front of me I don't know the authors but I'll try to wing it.
Unfit for Command (about why John Kerry was unfit to be president) last animals at the zoo (about captive breeding by zoos as an effort to save endangered species) they were expendable (about PT boats in WWII) from the bottom up (about Living Land & Water and the cleanup of Americas rivers.
