last night I found out that my old friend Marie died a couple of weeks ago
we spoke about a month ago and knew that it might be the last time
she'd already outlived her prognosis by close to a year
I am glad she went easily, but I'm gutted and I can't stop crying
we weren't part of each others life, so nobody thought to tell me
I called to check up on her and it was the clean-up party after the memorial service
