white plains - anyone?
I don't suppose any of you are going to the White Plains expo . . .
Mikhaila and I are taking a couple of her friends, and we're going early - before the crowds get so thick that the kids can't get to the tables I'll probably visit with Sean Casey animal rescue several times, so on the off-chance that you are going, you could ask whether I'm around there - they're usually set up right by the entrance also - if you see a platinum blonde boy (9) and girl (6) with a stunning tall blonde mother - that's Noah and Liv, with their mom Katherine - they would probably be able to point me out I'd love to meet another forum member that would be fun

Re: white plains - anyone?
I swear - I was going to
brought my camera and all but I ended up going with a bunch of kids and I knew they weren't going to last long, so I had to speed-shop sorry I had a huge supply list and a teeny tiny very specific list of snakes I was allowed to get (all garters) I got about half of my supply list and I saw very few garters there were some very sickly looking albino checkereds (not on my list) I met and exchanged info with a guy from Staten Island who had baby pugets - pretty, but not on my list then lastly there was the man with the two stunning garters the radix that exploded all over me, but I wouldn't have cared, except - sadly - she was not on my list and then he had this one - and she was on my list, so you get to see her ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also saw my old vet and will post his contact info in a separate thread I apologize about the lack of photos from the expo, but I only had an hour and there's 200 vendors our new snake's name is Chica she's pretty mellow and a bit on the skinny side her colouring is more olive than in the pics I really like her

Re: white plains - anyone?
Maybe it's just me... but the line of the mouth looks a little strange, especially in the second picture....just below and slightly behind the eye. Might I suggest you have a look at her gums in that area? Just to make sure there's no nasty 'cheesy' looking matter there. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Re: white plains - anyone?
Wow. I agree with Lulu... great pictures, particularily of the tongue.
It took me a second to realize that the first picture was of a snake in water, and I thought it had a kinked spine . I'm a little embarrased, but relieved. ![]() |

Re: white plains - anyone?
Rhea, if you compare the line of the mouth between your new snake and my marcianus, you may see what I mean.
![]() Your snake's upper labials appear to be casting a shadow, as if the mouth isn't fully closed in that area.

Re: white plains - anyone?
thanks
I did notice the "different" upper jaw-line in the pics I didn't notice anything when I was inspecting her earlier, before I took the pics, and I looked at her face closely, because in the weird fluorescent light at the expo, her eyes looked strangely opaque and red after some looking and handling, I thought she was fine, but I didn't look in her mouth my vet probed her for me, and if there had been anything obvious, he would have noticed, but he wasn't particularly examining her tomorrow I'll check her mouth more closely she was a very thirsty girl by the time I got her home she's in a lovely little quarantine tank right now and we'll see . . .
