Re: Green Anoles

I haven't caught either in the wild, but green anoles that turn brown generally don 't have the stripes and markings the brown anoles have.

Re: Green Anoles

are they supposed to have mesh cages?
I would get a regular 10 or 20 gallon tank, but I was thinking,

CnC? I want to know before I get it, for those that know or those that keep them?

Re: Green Anoles

Heh, I was informed by a botany expert at the science fair that if you live in the US and have a Lowes or Home Depot nearby, that they ALWAYS get anoles and geckos, mole crickets, and other animals in on their live plants. Why spend the money at a pet store when you could get them for free with a little searching? :P

Re: Green Anoles

Also, brown anoles have red/orange dewlaps, while green anoles have red/pink dewlaps. ;D

Re: Green Anoles

I would think that anoles would prefer a warm, aerated environment. Just as long as there is a humid hide, or some place for them to get moist as necessary. I do know one thing: You want it aerated, but not dry.

Re: Green Anoles

I would think that the mesh cages would work fine,as long as you provide the proper lighting and heat, although you may need to mist them a bit more often. They do cut down on your visibility a bit, but also make the animals feel more secure inside.
