omg!! Black Racer Eggs!!!!
well... yesterday i was feeding the new garter girl (whom i have named woofer because she eats everything in sight right out of my hands), and I heard some snakey flatulence to the right. So I look over and my black racer is sitting there alertly staring at me as usual, and she pooed... and then a minute later a small egg came out! I was like... omg! She IS gravid!
I had a suspicion she was when she arrived because she was "chunky" for a racer, but couldn't feel any eggs. Well now i know why... their eggs are small! they are at most, 2 inches in length, I put her in a laying box with moist paper toweling and yesterday nothing all day, but this morning she is now in that egg laying trance and there are 4 in the box and I can see a whole lot more coming! This snake probably exceed 4 feet in length... and with such small eggs... I might have my hands REALLY full soon.... ![]() So lets play the guessing game... how many eggs will Shiggles lay? (yes its Shiggles, not squiggles) I will post pics today when I get home from work and have time to do so ![]()
