Flat-headed snake

I believe this little guy is a flat-headed snake. If I'm right, that also means it's a full grown adult. Anybody have any experience with these?

Re: Flat-headed snake

it looks like one. I caught a newborn in Kansas....they eat scorpions, spiders, centipedes, and a variety of other small arthropods. my baby didn't do well, but I'm sure an adult would be a little easier to feed.

Re: Flat-headed snake

So do you guys think that I should try keeping it? Or should I release it?

Re: Flat-headed snake

this is what it comes down to:
do you feel that at this time of your life you have the time, focus, and patience to cater to a snake that may be difficult to feed and or in other ways fragile?
there are times in ones life when that is an engaging project
at other times is can be a bit much to take on

Re: Flat-headed snake

I'd release it simply because it's a wild animal and not captive bred.

But it's your choice.

Re: Flat-headed snake

If this species is of particular interest to you.... if you deliberately went out looking for it, then you should keep it. But if you 'just found it', you should let it go.
