Update on my Storeria dekayi

Sorry no pictures right now,my sis has my camera ;[

For a couple of days now,ive been worried about my brown snake,he hasnt been as active or anything.
Just sitting around a log

So i wake up this morning, and find a fresh full body shed
And was veryyyy happy

[i had been worried about him not shedding either]

Now,that he shed,he's became alot more active
and i take it,since he was shedding thats why he wasnt eating

Since he shed, should i try to feed him now,or wait alittle?

Also something funny he did

I gave him an earth worm a couple weeks ago
He snatched it up in his mouth like he was going to eat it
then put it in his water dish as if he was trying to drown it?
then sit on top of this water dish and just watched the little guy

Im about to go get him a bigger cage

What would be the best thing to put on the ground for to crawl on?
sorry for this being so long

was sooo exited he shed, and is becomeing alot more active again

That's good news, Brandon. You go ahead and feed him now.

Re: Update on my Storeria dekayi

Great news about the shed! It's really hard to tell when Dekay's are going into shed since their eyes are already fairly light in colour, and very tiny! You often miss the "blue" period!
I used aspen bedding with my Dekay's, and he seemed pretty happy burrowing around in it. I've recently tried Carefresh bedding, and I must say, I like it even more than aspen. I don't think it really matters which one you use. As long as it's easy for the snake to burrow in and hide, he'll be happy.
