now its not a reptile..no worries we will add another snake eventually lol, nope this is a new Bird. we went to petsmart to buy rabbit food and I have been looking or anouther 'Tiel for a while so I always check the birds, and they actually had exactly what I have been looking for! his name is "Timo" he is about 3 month old and a Pied, very friendly, and he and my other Tiel, Toivo just love eachother lol. so this bring my count up to:
6 dogs 13 gerbils 1 bunny 2 guinea pigs 2 cockatiels 1 garter several fish so I would like to formaly introduce "Timo" ![]() Timo and Toivo ![]()

Re: newbie to my zoo!
they're lovely - congrats on getting Timo
I've never been into captive birds that much but the rescue has a cockatoo who's living in the store his/her name is Chicken and s/he likes to cuddle I never knew birds did that

Re: newbie to my zoo!
Toivo is a male(easy to tell because he is not infact a grey, but a Pearl, and only males loose their pearling), Timo is probably a male based on the fact that the store he came from generally only takes males lol, but I have no idea for sure.

Re: newbie to my zoo!
Congrats Shayna!! My mom just took in a gorgeous lavender female tiel that one of her co-workers found in their yard!! She is SUCH a love mooch too... (the bird, not my mom. Well, my mom too, but I meant the bird. LOL) She must have been hand raised, she loves to be cuddled and stroked, and she follows my parents all over the house. Her name is Juliet.
Yours are beautiful!!! |

Re: newbie to my zoo!
I have two cockatiels also... Popcorn and Smooch!!! your new cockatiel is a male also... his orange cheeks are way too prominent to be a female! and does he talk yet? only the males talk and sing... females just kinda whistle, and lay eggs...

Re: newbie to my zoo!
Timo hasnt made much for any sound yet, he chattered a little bi with Toivo yesterday, but otherwise he has yet to make a peep lol. Toivo is a chatterbox though, he doesnt actually talk, but has has all kinds of whistles and mimics lol. im sure Timo will start yammering once he settles in more though lol
