Re: Saddest snake tradgedy to date.

Animal cruelty always sickens me when it comes to pets more than most. What the Hell do people gain from doing things like this??

Re: Saddest snake tradgedy to date.

I distinctly remember my first experience of this kind of sick mind....
I was about 7 years old and I was out catching Common Lizards (Zootica vivipara) on a local hillside. I had caught a beautiful male which I was going to take home for my two females.
I was approached by three 'big boys', maybe 10 or 11 years old. They took the lizard off me, and were teasing me with it. Then one of them just pulled it in half... just for fun. I was really shocked, at that age I didn't understand how or why anybody could do such a thing.
I flew at the boy and got myself a good kicking into the bargain.

Re: Saddest snake tradgedy to date.

I had something similar happen when I caught a slow-worm on the bank of the local stream in Germany. A couple of older boys came and told me I wasn't allowed to do that, proceeded to grab it from me and then threw it full force at the rocks on the other side of the stream. I was horrified, even complained to their parents but nothing ever came of it. There's just no sense in it

Re: Saddest snake tradgedy to date.

the worst thing about this is that the person who did it is more than likely never going to be found........

I went to school (7th-9th grade) with a guy who used to set common lizards on fire for fun. He bragged about it only once, I made sure of that.

Never really had any problems with the 'big boys', I've always been their size (often bigger) and I've never taken crap from any of them. A few have tried to push me around, but again, only once.

Re: Saddest snake tradgedy to date.

Fortunately, I've never had any problems with others on the matter of animals.
When I talk to others at school about animals, they just sort of sit there and stare at me, in an astounded sort of way. Rest assured, if I ever saw some sort of case like this...
