surprise find

I was collecting firewood for a bonfire tonight and I found this little one hiding under some bark...

He/she's only about 10" long, but pretty thick. Western Hognose's are threatened in Illinois, in fact there have been none vouchered in this area since before 1980. So after a couple of pics I let this one go where I found it...cool find though and a beautiful little snake.

Jerry, I suggest you let someone know you found a Hoggy in an area where NONE have been vouchered for OVER 20 years! They may be making a come back? Let SOMEONE know!!!

And bless your heart for doing the correct thing and letting him/her go!
