Talking Caution! Snakes are infectious!

I have just spent a lovely week with my sister and while watching my snakeys doing their morning aerobics she caught the bug! Ha, how could she not?! She has gone home this afternoon and her poor husband doesn't yet know, that soon his freezer will never be the same again.
As she lives near Frankfurt/ Germany I have pointed her into your direction, Udo, if that's ok?

Infectious AND addictive!!! What IS it about these critters that so intrigues us?? I have a hard time explaining it... but I can watch them for hours.

Good question. Let me know when you find a good, simple answer to that one. I never know exactly what to say when I am asked that either.

I'm like, "they're just , like, cool, ya know, like, whatever" ! (bouncing my head off my shoulders).

ok, I dont really say that.

Lol, I'm glad you understand my excitement! Apparently the convincing of her husband was short and painless, too. They are a perfect match... he, like my sister, also chose the "Florida Blue" as his favourite subspecies.

I usually tell people something like
"what's not to like about about snakes?
they are elegant fascinating creatures to watch and they feel wonderful to the touch - smooth and dry like jewelery
some of them will hold onto you with their muscular bodies and it feels a bit like getting hugged
the feather touch of their tongues when they smell you is so gentle . . .
yeah well, they're not furry, but neither are most of us and we still like to touch each other
and then, of course, the care to enjoyment ratio is fantastic
they only eat about once per week, poop maybe twice, shed in one piece every so often instead of all the time
they don't miao or whoof at your bedroom door at the crack of dawn either - big plus
I mean really - what's not to like?"
did that help?
for the more intellectually inclined you can always toss in something about the kinesthetic aspect of the experience

oops - sorry
just realized that you asked for simple

I loved your response Rhea... when I want something simple I just say that it's kind of like watching a fish tank. Most people can at least understand the draw of watching an aquarium.
