And here are some of my feathered friends!
Mourning doves:


Some I took a couple weeks ago when we still had snow!
Red wing blackbird on the feeder (taken through the window, so they're not the best!)

Common grackle, and red wing blackbird. Also some stupid pigeons-they bug me!

..so I went out for a little walk, which turned into an urban midnight herping trip. Found one Rana temporaria and nearly a dozen Bufo bufo (including roadkills, which I won't post here without moderator approval) altogether during the first 3 kilometers, but I didn't have my camera with me. So I changed my plans, went back home to get the camera and walked the same route again. Here are the results.









These last two are the same toad from two different angles.


And when I started walking home, I saw some kind of accident.


They were taking down a circus tent and a single fire engine showed up with the lights on but no siren, followed by a police van. No ambulance, but apparently something was going on.
