Shannon, that Dekay's is wonderful. I wish I could find one like that! And Lori, I've seen something similar to your 'Black Death Fungus' before, but for the life of me I can't remember what the hell it is.........sorry!

Lovely pics, Shannon. We have lots of red-tailed hawks in my neighborhood, but I've never seen one so pretty!
And Lori, that's some yucky fungus. Could you find any more? Or was it just on that one tree?

By the way, a few weeks ago (I forgot to tell you), I went on a field trip to a colonial village called Beth Page Village. I saw this beautiful Garter snake guarding a hole. My friend was about to touch it but it striked at him. (The snake missed) What do you think?
