An update on the young blackbirds in our garden.
They grow like crazy. One of the young is kicked out of the nest. There was not enough room for three. We found it dead on the ground. A cat was happy with it. Here's mom on the nest...

 Not a good picture, but the recent squirrel stories drove me to it.  No it's not blurry, the moth is just vibrating its wings. Rick probably knows better than me why they do it, but the explanation I've been given is that they need to do it to keep the muscles warm.  Cygnus olor. Thamnophis, excellent photos!
