Re: The Nature Photography Thread

In some ways it looks like one of the Dictyna...but I can't find a match. Also the eye grouping is very much Araneus. How about a pic of the web?

Re: The Nature Photography Thread

Can anyone be bothered Googling 'Dictynidae' and searching the list for a match? (Stefan)....I think that's where you'll find your answer. It's not a spider I've ever seen.

Here's a starting point for all you 'Googlers'!!List of Dictynidae species - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dictynidae, James?

edit: Nigma walckenaeri? Or a close relative?

Re: The Nature Photography Thread

It's possible, I don't know this one. A web pic will confirm Dictynidae though.

Yeah, but you had a typo in Dictynidae, so that doesn't count.

But I wouldn't have known where to look if you hadn't suggested that, I wouldn't have gotten it right if google hadn't offered to correct your spelling and I definitely wouldn't have figured out Nigma, if some Czech website (coincidentally, the same website Sjoerd linked to) hadn't had a picture of that species.
