Maybe it's to early today - but I didn't get the joke. Just thinking about the scientific name, but I don't find any hint. Please help.

I'm very happy for you that they got it now - and wow, 9 eggs are a lot as I think - very nice. I hope for you that all of them hatch. Let us know when they start.

No big loss, I was just referring to the word Lampropeltis, "shiny shield" (or "skin").
