    Welcome from a windy Liverpool

have not kept them for a number of years but in my experience they are kept the same way as garters, but while the Italian snake natrix natrix natrix takes well to captivity the British snake natrix helvetica is resistant to a high degree usually starving themselves to death rather than coming around, it should be said my experience was with wild caught only

One of the vendors at the monthly Taylor Michigan reptile show had a couple little 'European Garter snakes' in deli- tubs on his table. I managed to get his attention long enough to find out they were indeed 'Natrix'. but that was all I managed to get from him as the show was busy, and I knew I wasn't there to buy snakes. (Just food.)
