It has been hot and dry here. I have walked around a mitigation of quite a few acres, and have not seen one snake. Of course there are no logs or stones to flip... just have to encounter one on the move.

Interestingly enough, I also have seen very few frogs along the mitigation pond, where they are sometimes quite common.

I have drop boards across the back of my property and there isn't any activity there either.

No scorching heat right now so I'm going to go look again today see if my luck has turned. Persistance and luck shall bring me a snake ;*).

Hot and dry here too. Most of my snakes have gone underground. Was brush hogging the neighbors hay fields today (a pain, the grass flowers kept clogging the radiator, and I had to stop to clean it multiple times) watching for snakes, flushed a hen mallard (must have made her nest in the middle of the field), and a week old fawn jumped up 2 feet in front of the tractor (never saw it, and I was looking cus the doe had been hanging around), a few toads, lots of deer mice, two cottontail rabbits and only one snake, a large common eastern (too fast for me). Everyone made it out alive!

FFS I only found 2 babies today. I really need to get out earlier before the hot sun burns them underground. I know that the fence lizards not too far from my house are out in the morning, but later in the day (times when I look for snakes) they are gone. Hopefully I can catch them as they are comming out to sun themselves after a chilly night.

Lee, FFS? I'm sure I'm not the only one here who doesn't understand the abbreviations. It's difficult to respond when I don't know what you're saying.

If it means what I think it might mean...It might be best omitted!

Bet ommitted. :*) lol sorry I'm so used to typing these things. Out of all the forums I visit, 80% are gamer forums. After the latest patch is released for cnc3 I'll move that up to 95% and it will be worse. but hey, I'll get prizes for winning games so its ok !
